Britannia Stadium (Narrowest pitch in the League)

Britannia Stadium (Narrowest pitch in the League)

So as we look to the new season, Stoke have won their appeal to keep their pitch narrow after an number of clubs complained to the league about this but what are the differences between everyones pitches? Here is a table to show this…

1. Manchester City, City of Manchester Stadium, 116 x 77 Yards, 8932

2. Manchester United, Old Trafford, 116 x 76 yards, 8816

3. Blackburn Rovers, Ewood Park, 115 x 76 yards, 8740

4. Everton, Goodison Park, 112 x 78 yards, 8736

5. Wolves, Molineux, 115 x 75 yards, 8625

6. Aston Villa, Villa Park, 114 x 75 yards, 8550

7. Hull City, K C Stadium, 115 x 74 yards, 8510

8. Arsenal, Emirates Stadium, 114 x 74 yards, 8436

9. Sunderland, Stadium of Light, 114 x 74 yards, 8436

10. Wigan Athletic, JJB Stadium, 114 x 74 yards, 8436

11. Portsmouth, Fratton Park, 115 x 73 yards, 8395

12. Chelsea, Stamford Bridge, 110 x 75 yards, 8250

13. Fulham, Craven Cottage, 110 x 75 yards, 8250

14. Liverpool, Anfield, 110 x 75 yards, 8250

15. Birmingham City, St. Andrews, 110 x 74 yards, 8140

16. Tottenham Hotspur, White Hart Lane, 110 x 73 yards, 8030

17. Bolton Wanderers, Reebok Stadium, 110 x 72 yards, 7920

18. Burnley, Turf Moor, 112 x 70 yards, 7840

19. West Ham United, Boleyn Ground, 110 x 70 yards, 7700

20. Stoke, Britannia Stadium, 110×70 yards, 7700

So what does this tell us? Well, to start with City have the biggest pitch aswell as the biggest bank balance, lets see if they can use it to their advantage this year? United have a large pitch as you would expect but Hardworking  Blackburn are abit of a suprise in 3rd, dont be suprised if Big Sam gets that changed for the new season. Everton still have the widest pitch and Chelsea and Liverpool are still further down the table, most likely because they dont have to much room the play with. New boys Burnley will prob look to follow Stokes success from last year by making the most of a very narrow pitch. It will be interesting to see if there any effect on new boys Wolves this season as they boast one of the larger pitches in the league. Both Fulham and Portsmouth have larger pitches than Liverpool, i bet you wouldnt have thought that from watching the games on TV!!

Gunnar Nordhal

Gunnar Nordhal

When asked who is AC Milan’s all time leading goalscorer, most people will start to list many famous names that have worn the famous shirt of the Rossoneri, however when you take a look at the history books there is one name that stands out. Gunnar Nordhal, the Sweedish footballing legend spent 8 seasons with AC Milan and is their all time top scorer. The prolific Sweed bagged 210 league goals in 8 seasons, finishing leading league goal scorer in 5 of them. He is still the second-highest Serie A goalscorer of all time also with 225 goals in 291 matches.

A closer inspection of the history books would suggest that Gunnar Nordhal is one of the most dangerous strikers that Europe has ever seen. Surely a player with this sort of goal record would be worth £100 Million in todays money!!!

PES 2009 PS2 Better than PES 2009 PS3

Friday, July 10th, 2009

Pro Evolution Soccer 2009 has been out for quite some time now and i have spent much time playing on this game. I have played in on both playstation platforms and i feel that they differ greatly. Sure the graphics are twice as good on the PS3 and the general effects are fantastic. What i do not like however is the gameplay. I just do not like the gameplay on the PS3 at all. I think it is allot slower and some of the things that happen are so frustrating, there is no smoothness to the gameplay at all. I have been a fan of PES since childhood and have owned nearly every edition. I have always enjoyed the progress made between editions and the time it takes you to get good at the new game. There is something i cannot put my finger on that i do not like about the gameplay on the PS3 and im not going to waste my time playing it. When the new one comes out i will give that a go and see what thats like. From what ive heard, im not the only person who is not entirely convinced about the new PES on the PES3. I  actually know a few people who have converted to the darkside and bought the new FIFA !!! Lets hope that there just joking, its not that bad a game!!!

Top 10 Players That Look Like Ugly Women

Thursday, July 9th, 2009
No 2: Andriy Voronin

No 2: Andriy Voronin

Theres allot of players out there that look like ugly women. But who are the best ones?

1: Yossi Benayoun- The creative midfielder takes this award hands down with his slimeline figure and thin looking face

2: Andriy Voronin- Another Liverpool player enters high into the top 10. From a distance, Andriy is easily mistaken for a female scally

3: Tugay Kerimoğlu- Just retired from the beautiful game. The Turkish and Blackburn legend was fantastic on the ball but did look abit like an ugly woman.

4: Andrea Pirlo- The Milan and Italy midfielder is known for his flowing brunette chop and would not look out of place in a dress.

5: Nani- The bendy legged Manchester United star is an odd looking winger. Could this lads future be on the catwalk? i think yes

6: Michael Mancienne- The young Chelsea star is one of Englands hottest prospect. Shave your head though son, you look like something from Destinys Child

7: Sergio Ramos- The young Spaniard is a massive hit with the ladies in Madrid. Dont know why? are they all into women

8: Johnathon Woodgate- Not sure if has his long hair still but it really compromised his look, especially with the hairband also.

9: Georgios Samaras- Possible rival to Yossi Ben, but his more manly figure keeps him near the bottom of the list

10: Ruud Van Nistelrooy- The prolific Dutchman has had no shortage of nicknames down the years. Cant see it stopping anytime soon Horse Head
