Famous Marseille Shirt

Famous Marseille Shirt

This is the famous Marseille shirt from the early nineties worn by the team as they dominated the French League for 4 seasons aswell as winning the European Cup by beating Ac Milan in Munich in 1993.  The shirt is a classic and well known design that Marseille wore for 4 seasons until they changed to the Reebok kit for the 94-95 season.  They abviously realised their mistake and reverted back to adidas. The shirt is just as well know for the sponsor; Panasonic, as it is for the famous players that wore it and the famous white and turqoise blue colours that make up the shirt are instantly recognisable with Olympique de Marseille. This was the first shirt also to have the famous badge where the teams initials are clear. Marseille seem to change their badge every 5 years for some reason. Here is the team that lifted the European Cup against Milan, as you can see there are some very famous names and footballing legands.

Adidas Predator Rapier Cup

The first Predator

The first Predator

Adidas Predator Rapier Cup were the originall Adidas Predator boot that has evolved into a range of probbably the most worn and best selling boots in the world, both in the professionall game and amateur. The boot was actually the creation of an ex footballer and not adidas. It was the colourfull Australian; Craig Johnston that invented the boot. Johnston played for Middlesboro and Liverpool in the 70′s and 80′ and had always been obsessed with the design and style of different boots since his time as an apprentice at Middlesboro. Once in retirement, Johnson designed various different prototypes themed around the idea of sticking rubber patches or teeth to the front of the boots to add protection and grip when striking a football. This also aided in putting curl or swerve on the ball, later mastered and made famous by David Beckham in the famous boots. The boots have now evolved into a more lightweight model but at the time this technology was expensive and soughtafter for every budding footballer.

Classic Milan shirt design

Classic Milan shirt design

This is one of the most iconic Milan shirts. The classic red and black design along with the classic adidas and Italy badge and star makes this a memorable design. AC Milan did not put there club badge on their shirts until the mid to late 90′s.  This particular shirt was only worn for the 1 season and is remembered also for the European cup final which they lost to Marseilles. Milan had one of the best teams europe has seen in the early 90′s and were known for their world class players. Here is the squad from this particular year when they won the league.
Goalkeepers , Sebastiano Rossi, Carlo Cudicini,Francesco Antonioli

Defenders, Franco Baresi, Stefano Nava, Paolo Maldini, Enzo Gambaro, Alessandro Costacurta, Filippo Galli, Mauro Tassotti

adidas kopanya 2009 confederations cup ball

adidas kopanya 2009 confederations cup ball

Here is the Adidas Kopanya 2009 Confederations Cup ball. This is an interesting and attractive design and this is the first time that Adidas have made a speciast ball for the Confederations Cup. The ball was first used in the annual Nelson Mandela challenge match where South Africa took on Cameroon.

The name “Kopanya” comes from Southern Sesotho and “Kopanya” is an official language spoken by around 5 million people throughout the rainbow nation and translated it quite literally means ”join together”.  It not just the name which is Africa either, the design was inspired by the artwork of the Ndebele people of South Africa. The strong and complex black shaped together with the vibrant colour make this design recognisable with the artwork of the  Ndebele people.

Here is the new 2009-2010 Liverpool away shirt. I think it is allot better than last seasons effort. Last time out the retro gray kit was not the easiest on the eye!!

I think liverpool have it right this time though as the dark shade of grey for the main colour with the contrast of the light gold for the popular Carlsberg and Adidas logos. The kit is finished off with a red trim on the chest area and the badge. One the back of the kit, the names and player numbers are also to be in the light gold colour.

The kit is now available from the club shop at the normal prices…
